"A PIONEER OF STREETWEAR" SINCE1991
XLARGE is one of the original brands that helped define streetwear before it was even recognized as a category. As a pioneer in the scene, it continues to uphold its title as a true OG in street fashion.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
It all began in November 1991, when the first XLARGE STORE opened in Vermont Avenue LA. The store spread the street culture of the 1990’s from LA to the world. It was started by Eli Bonerz and Adam Silverman, who just graduated from Architect School.

WORKWEAR GOES STREET
Eli set up the original store concept of ”selling blue-collar uniforms at a fashion boutique. Such a unique idea was very eccentric in the early 1990s. Actually, the XLARGE store became the first "street fashion" shops to sell uniforms.

LA ROOTS, XLARGE IDENTITY
In the 90’s, a new street culture was born in LA; a mix of skateboard and music culture, as opposed to that of NY where hip hop and graffiti culture was born. Eli, Adam and Mike D from Beastie Boys together gave the XLARGE STORE a strong cultural identity.

UTILITY MEETS STREETWEAR
“A representation of utilitarian wear as fashion, as opposed to everyday wear”, and created an original fashion style by blending the music, art and skateboarding culture. Now, XLARGE continues to be the innovator and pioneer in the streetwear world.

THE “OG” LOGO
The XLARGE brand logo with a gorilla motif was named the "OG logo", which is short for "Original Gorilla" and combines with the meaning of the brand spirits "True OG Streetwear".
